A series of miniature gems, Tchaikovsky's The Seasons was composed in 1875-6, each piece named after a month of the year and each appearing in its respective monthly issue of a St Petersburg music magazine. This delightful set for piano reveals Tchaikovsky's supreme gift for melody, and individual excerpts are often heard as recital encores or in arrangements for other instruments. Today, a whole year floats by as twelve Royal Welsh College pianists play Tchaikovsky's evocative and charming masterpiece.
