2017 marks the centenary of the Russian Revolution and arts organisations across Wales are putting together a season of performances and events in the first collaboration of its kind, which capture the social and cultural explosion of the era, and Wales’ historic connections with the Russia of the time.

The communications campaign is run by the Orchard Media and Events Group , who directed the Dylan Thomas 100 festival in 2014.

The R17 Season Executive Producer is Andrew Miller, Head of Creative Programming at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama; the R17 Producer is freelance Arts Consultant, Laura Drane and the season has been produced with the assistance of the Arts Council of Wales Lottery funding. The R17 season of cultural events is apolitical and is focused purely on reflecting the cultural resonance of Russian history.
